Check out some photos I took of my good friends in A Day To Remember on the opening night of their current tour in Austin.  Notice how great the new Golden Eagle and Elevated Engineering shirts look.  Check out their stores at

Pop Punk’s Not Dead Tour

Tuesday night I went out to the new Emo’s East venue here in Austin to check out the Pop Punk’s Not Dead Tour.  I was very fortunate to get a press pass for the show as well, so I could shoot some pics/video.  The night went as followed.

I walked in right as This Time Next Year was finishing their set, so I can’t say too much about them.  Man Overboard was next.  I had never seen them before that night but had heard a few songs.  The songs they played sounded tight and their live show was good.  After they finished, The Wonder Years took the stage.  I got to get to know these guys pretty well over Warped this year.  It was great seeing them again.  Their set was very similar to what they played over the Summer with a few new songs thrown in.  High energy with catchy hooks that almost anyone can relate to.  With Warped Tour under their belt and making the cover of September’s issue of AP, this band is moving in the right direction fast.  Set Your Goals followed, playing hits from all four of their releases.  They had a fill in guitar player that night, but that didn’t hold them back a bit.  Crowd surfing, punk rock jumps, straight Mutiny.

New Found Glory headlined the night.  It’s crazy to think I’ve seen them play live for over ten years now and it never gets old.  A lot of people say they outgrew of them, but I still hold them up there as one of my favorite bands.  They didn’t waste any time, starting the night off with Understatement (as seen in the video above).  Having released seven full lengths in their career, the setlist was pretty predictable.  They threw three songs off their new release “Radiosurgery” into the mix as well.  Halfway through the set they had some technical difficulties and Jordan and Chad had to play some acoustic songs.  The crowd didn’t seem to mind as their voices sang loudly above the band.  The show was great, the encore was even better [No Spoilers!]

Big thanks to my friend Matt in The Wonder Years for getting me in to the show and with a press pass.  If you haven’t checked out his band, stop what you’re doing and give it a listen.
